(OnlineEd – Portland, OR) – Mortgage Bankers and Brokers were able to get a jump on completing their 2011 NMLS SAFE Continuing Education requirements at the California Mortgage Bankers Association’s  sales and marketing conference in Anaheim, CA on April 7, 2011.  The OnlineEd National 8-hour comprehensive SAFE continuing education course was taught by education specialists and industry experts.

The course is approved for 8 hours of CE credit by the National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) in both live and online methods.  OnlineEd also sought approval of the course by the California Department of Real Estate.  “The advantage of providing CE credit for both the NMLS and DRE licensee is that they are able to complete the CE requirements for both licenses at one time”  said OnlineEd President, Harlow Spaan.  “OnlineEd also wanted to provide a course that covers the standard education requirements of the NMLS and includes information on programs that will help mortgage loan originators learn about loan products that will allow them to help their clients in this market place.  The course covers the FHA 203(k),  Energy Efficient Mortgage and Good Neighbor Next Door products.  Students in the CMBA course loved hearing about products that they can share with their real estate agents to help them sell more houses.  Something that we all can use right now” he added.

Mortgage Loan Originators doing business in the current market are tasked with creating a business based on sound, ethical practices that are in compliance with federal regulations and fair housing laws. At the same time, they must be knowledgeable about the many programs available for their clients. This course will familiarize the MLO with fair lending practices and the federal regulation requirements of RESPA, TILA, MDIA, ECOA, the Fair Housing Act, the Can-Spam Act, and the E-Sign Act. In addition to providing a comprehensive introduction to the multitude of regulations affecting the mortgage industry, this 8-hour SAFE CE Comprehensive Course also offers an overview of specialty programs, such as FHA’s 203 (k) Rehab Loan, Energy Efficient Mortgage, and the Good Neighbor Next Door program.
