New continuing education requirements took effect on January 1st, 2026 for all Oregon real estate licensees. These updated requirements included changes to the Law and Rule Required Course (LARRC), the introduction of a new required Fair Housing Course, and revisions to the Advanced Practices Courses for brokers, property managers, and principal brokers. Law and Rule Required Course (LARRC) Changes
Beginning January 1st, 2026, the new LARRC 2026–2027 course replaced the previous LARRC 2024–2025 course. The most notable change is that the course is now be two hours instead of three. This course is FREE for OnlineEd students.
If you completed the 3-hour course before the end of 2025, it will still count toward your renewal, even if your renewal happens in 2026. Note that for the older, 2024-2025 version to count towards your 2026 renewal it must have been completed before 2026. If it wasn’t completed by the end of 2025, it cannot count towards your renewal. As long as it was completed by the end of 2025, it can be submitted in 2026 as part of your renewal.

The New Fair Housing Required Course
As of January 1st, 2026, all Oregon real estate licensees must complete this new two-hour Fair Housing course as part of their renewal requirements. OnlineEd has this course for FREE for all students.
Advanced Practices Course Updates
The Oregon Real Estate Agency also made changes to the Advanced Practices (AP) courses for brokers, property managers, and principal brokers. These courses were 27 hours, but have been revised to 26 hours as of January 1st, 2026. If you’ve already purchased the 2025 version of this course and if this course has an expiration date after December 31st, we replaced it automatically and for FREE with the new 2026-2027 version on January 1st. If you completed the course in 2025 and you’re renewing for the first time in 2026 or 2027, don’t panic, it still counts! You’ll need to take the new fair housing course and a LARRC course, but you’ve already fulfilled the Advanced Practices requirement.
