Plat Map

by | Feb 6, 2026

In real estate and land surveying, a plat map is a detailed map that divides a parcel of land into individual lots, blocks, streets, and other designated areas. It is commonly used in the creation of subdivisions.

A plat map shows property boundaries, dimensions, and easements and is typically prepared by a licensed surveyor. Once approved and recorded, it becomes part of the public record and is used for legal descriptions, development planning, and property conveyance.
