Grantor

by | Feb 4, 2026

In real estate, a Grantor is the person or entity that transfers ownership or an interest in real property to another party. The grantor is the one who conveys the property rights through a deed.

The grantor must have the legal authority to transfer the interest being conveyed and is responsible for executing the deed properly. Once the deed is delivered and accepted, the grantor’s interest in the property is transferred to the grantee according to the terms of the conveyance.
