OnlineEd® and WorldParksStudio4® LLC have signed letters of intent to create an amusement park where real estate and mortgage licensees can fulfill their continuing education requirements on 18 different rides. OnlineEd® CEO Debra Ferrier says this park concept will kick off the company’s ten-year plan called “Live, Laugh, Learn.”
This new CE entertainment center will be called Scholastic Park: Rides of Requirements, and includes attractions like Revised Statutes Roller Coaster, Carnival of Compliance, and Tax-Deferred Explosion. A haunted house named Inspection Contingency Mansion will feature themed characters like Moldy Mike and Radon Randy.
OnlineEd® plans to license its theme park’s intellectual property to the toy and gaming industry. Children’s toy characters like Negative Amortization Nancy, My Little Property Manager, and Princess Probate could be a hit with kids and bring in significant revenue to offset the company’s initial investment.
The gaming industry might also come calling when they find out about OnlineEd®’s homeowners association-themed escape rooms, which include Grand Theft Condo and Little HOA of Horrors.
After the success of OnlineEd’s Caribbean Continuing Education Cruises®, the company has sought a more accessible yet fun way for licensees to stay compliant, connect, and keep current on industry issues.
“People tend to see licensing education and tubing down a 300-ft water slide as two separate experiences,” Ferrier explains, “but maybe it’s time to see connections rather than barriers.” Ferrier thinks her industry needs to disrupt the status quo and move past its siloed way of thinking to make continuing education truly active. “We envision a future where CE that can’t be completed on a carnival ride will be obsolete,” Ferrier says just before our interview is cut short as she’s blasted out of an enclosed tube and into a tidal wave of pool water, the sounds of joyous children echoing in the background.
